We are thrilled to introduce two significant upgrades based on player feedback: audio focus and the restoration of the original console layout for the PS5 user interface. We are still working behind the scenes to deliver more improvements to the PS5 experience. Beginning on April 24, the PlayStation 5 operating system update will be gradually released throughout the world.

The new features' specifics are as follows:

Focus on Audio

By offering presets to augment quiet sounds to suit your hearing preferences, Audio Focus improves immersion and guarantees an improved audio experience when wearing headphones or headsets. More general inclusivity in audio experiences is supported by this feature. For a more engaging gaming experience, you can select from a variety of preset options when the microphone focus setting is on. These options make it simpler to discern noises like in-game person dialogue, faint sound effects like footsteps and moving grass, and voices in party chats.

Classic PS5 UI Returns

We honoured the four PlayStation systems that helped create the PS5—the PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4 by surprising our fans with a limited-edition selection of nostalgic personalization elements for the PS5 System UI amid our 30th anniversary celebrations. We are pleased to restore the physical characteristics of the four dashboard designs so that gamers can personalize the PS5 home screen, thanks to the tremendously good feedback from our community!
