Jagex has rolled out early access today for Runescape’s Dragonwild, right after two weeks of its trailer on 31 March. The developers scheduled a live stream to share the release date, however, no one knew that the release would happen today.
What’s In For RuneScape Fans
The game is set in the premises where players are swayed to a forgotten continent named Ashenfall. They’ll need to rely on their crafting skill to build shelter and equipment for their survival. After discovering the awakening of dragons, they will need to complete quests and upgrade their skills and gear to fight off the threats. The game can be played solo or with up to four players.
Collaborative Development Via Early Access
The executive producer of Jagex, Jesse America, shared the team’s excitement, saying:
“We have poured a lot of energy into giving a unique RuneScape experience to the fans that fuels the passion, creativity and love for quests and adventures. And this is just the beginning of an exciting journey.”
Jesse emphasized that the team is committed to listening to players’ feedback and will upgrade the game content accordingly. The goal is to resonate with both newcomers and the longtime fans of Runescape. Jesse stated:
“We’ll be updating the game with new features and content, throughout the early access, while getting the feedback from the community to give an incredible open-world survival crafting game.”
Jagex stated that the game first began testing in 2024, and the team had several months to get feedback. Players' involvement plays the pivotal role in reflecting that Jagex is committed to community-driven growth.
