Sony Confirms PlayStation 6 Is on the Way

In the recent Fireside Chats, Hideaki Nishino, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, said that despite cloud gaming's growth, local console-based gaming remains solid in the industry. He admitted that PlayStation Plus Premium and PlayStation Portal have shown the interest of the company in cloud-based gaming. But at the same time, some of the users want to play the games locally. This is the place where PlayStation 6 and PlayStation 5 Pro come into play.

Nishino has also mentioned that the upgraded console is a major focus internally. In spite of the fact that the date and design of PlayStation 6 have not been released, it is in progress.
