After visiting a Switch 2 launch event in Tokyo, the Japanese speedrunner Ikaboze uploaded a video of his workmanship to his YouTube channel, according to VGC. A 10-minute preview of the upgraded original Switch launch game was given to attendees, although Ikaboze required only seven minutes of that time to defeat Ganon in the game's pivotal final battle.
To clarify, this particular time was not a 100% run of the game; the top times at the moment all take about 23 minutes. The speedrunner instantly ditched all of Link's gear and headed straight for his lifelong foe after loading an autosave that created him outside Hyrule Castle. The audience cheered as the credits rolled, delighted that Ikaboze had defeated Ganon before the demo's allotted time was over. Nintendo employees at the event reportedly informed the speedrunner that they were the first person to finish the Breath of the Wild demo.
In spite of the US pre-order holdup, the enhanced versions of the original Breath of the Wild and its 2023 sequel, Tears of the Kingdom, will become playable on the Switch 2 on launch day, which is still June 5 globally. Members of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will be enabled access to the Switch 2 versions of both BotW and TotK as part of their membership, while those who already buy the base game can upgrade for $10. But good luck if you try to defeat Ikaboze.
