The technology takeover

 The technology takeover

There has been a welcomed invasion in our lives, one that greets us as in the morning much like the paper use to, one that tucks us in at night and keeps us socializing all day through. It is our computerized friend and all of its abilities to make our lives less of a hassle and even a little more organized.

We don’t need an alien attack or a zombie apocalypse (although the Walking Dead makes it look oh so cool); we already have something that we have succumbed to…

This isn’t the age of Technology; instead, it is a Technology takeover.

Once upon a time we use to be buried in things called books or paperwork, today, our heads are buried in technology and our brains are reliant on what Google’s response is. We have friends, lots of them, but they happen to be online and somewhere us geeks have become the IT Crowd (I meant it not IT).

Can I breathe a sigh of relief and say… FINALLY!

Technology has given us many ways to express ourselves, share our inner beauty and connect with the world. It has also given us more ways to save lives, to catch criminals and end dictators from afar.

We have united through gadgets and Wi-Fi; we have sent messages to Wall Street and protested from our homes. No more are there superiors or people that are higher on the chain; we are not less than any other, because now, we have a voice.

We do not have to listen to the news; we are the news, breaking stories happen in the palm of our hands, on platforms that unify us to make a stand and to finally stand together, no matter where we are geographically.

Technology has changed the way we communicate and share our lives with others; we have redefined what a stranger is and opened our circles, followers and friends to people with more of an open mind and heart.

Our empathy levels have risen while our tolerance of ignorance has met its demise. We are a generation that will lead our children into a changed world, one we collectively created and one that the future will not ignore.

Take me to your leader, whether it is a smartphone, tablet, laptop or gadget, guaranteed one or more brings a smile to your everyday and have added to what is… the technology takeover.
