For millions of older people, getting a lift to the grocery store or a friend’s house is about more than simply convenience; it’s about maintaining their independence, well-being, and connections. Without the ability to drive, transportation can become a hindrance to daily living and a contributing factor to deteriorating health.

The app will display larger text and clearer instructions for riders with senior accounts. It will be a component of the Family Profiles function, which was introduced in 2016 and enables an account organizer to add family members and friends, set up remittances for them, and monitor their ETA and ride status.

Senior accounts can only be created with an invitation. Follow these steps to send an invite and create an Uber account: 

  • The account organizer must select Account. 
  • Click on Family and select the Invite Family icon.
  • After that tap Senior and select a Contact to ensure the selection of your invite. 
  • Send an Invite in order to add an elderly person to the Family profile. 
  • After that, a text message will be sent to the older adult instructing them to download the app and, if they weren’t already using it.

Why will this Strategy work?

As the population ages, so does technology for seniors.

Populations are rapidly aging throughout the planet. Between 2015 and 2050, the population over 60 is predicted to double. Similar population shifts are occurring in low- and middle-income countries, although the trend started with declining birth rates in high-income nations. As a result of these changes, the world community will have to consider how to accommodate a vast population that is approaching a stage of life that presents particular health and well-being challenges.

Seniors who have accounts will be able to save common locations, such as their homes or doctor’s offices after they are set up. To lessen decision fatigue, they will also see a streamlined booking window with fewer ride alternatives. They will be allowed to pay with a Medicare Flex card, their own card, or a family member’s card for qualified medical rides.

However, family organizers will be able to reserve trips for senior persons, check pick-up and drop-off information, manage saved destinations, and get in touch with the driver when needed.

Simple mode is available to older citizens who want to access the streamlined senior account interface without creating a Family profile. Follow these steps:

  • Navigate to Account 
  • Select the Settings option.
  • Click on the Accessibility to make it active.
