Just in case you missed it, here’s a couple of video clips which pretty much underline the kind of amazing things talented people can do with their iPad and the app of their choice.
The first video is just one to watch, partially because its backing track isn’t deeply unbearable, and partly because, well, it is pretty cool to watch artist, Kyle Lambert and his video presentation of just how he painted his picture of Beyonce using an iPad and the super-amazing Brushes for iPad app.
The video makes it look easy — in fact it took the talented finger-painting Brit a good six hours to make the picture.
He says, “The iPad expands the possibilities for artists like myself to take digital artwork creation away from the computer and out into the world.”
That’s the thinking shared by one, David Kassan, in the second slightly older video clip, which shows the artist creating a portrait of a live subject, once again using Brushes on his iPad.

Acclaimed UK artist, David Hockney has discussed his use of the iPad for art creation, saying, “The iPad is far more subtle, in fact it really is like a drawing pad. They will sell by the million. It will change the way we look at everything from reading newspapers to the drawing pad. It can be anything you want it to be. This is the nearest we have got to seeing what I would call a universal machine.”

That is cool but I would prefer a stylus rather than a finger. A lot more precise and comfortable.

Truly amazing. I look forward to the moment when I can do the same with broadcast quality audio.

that is amazing, yes with a stylus it would still be cool but the fact its done by a finger is just insane.

I use photoshop to digital art. I really love that you can create anything that you can imagine in your head. The UNDO button is great as well 🙂
