The latest release from WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.8.3 is through the TestFlight beta Program. It includes an exciting feature under development: music sharing from Spotify in status updates. This feature has already been found in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.8.3 update and will now bring access to iOS users for an effortless way to share their favorite tracks in a status update.
An Innovative Update
Spotify’s incoming integration will introduce additional options that allow users to share Spotify music with their contacts more enthusiastically. For example, during song selection within the app, users can access it with an extra button for “Status.” This enables them to post a song directly to their WhatsApp status without going through the copy-paste process. With this feature, sharing becomes more intuitive and efficient.
Once the user selects the “Status” option, WhatsApp automatically creates a preview of the shared track. The preview contains essential details like the song title, Artist name, and Album cover. Further, WhatsApp will also have a single ‘Play on Spotify’ button for the status update, allowing viewers to access the song directly in their Spotify app with just a single tap.
Interactive Status Updates
Through this integration, WhatsApp brings the status feature into line with Instagram Stories, making it more accessible for users to share their favorite tracks and engage with music content. It promotes a sense of expressiveness by simply enabling the conveyance of dynamic and interactive status posting through WhatsApp. These status updates, including the shared music one, are end-to-end encrypted, and only the recipient can get access to the content in order for WhatsApp to maintain its user’s privacy.

Sharing music from Spotify in WhatsApp status is currently under development and will thus be made available in a future update. As of now, there is no official release date, yet iOS users can expect it to be released in a subsequent update once WhatsApp integrates it.
