The ecommerce giant announced Tuesday that it plans to hire 70,000 full-time workers for its fulfillment centers to keep up with increased demand during the holidays. Amazon says that represents a 40% increase from last year’s seasonal hiring, suggesting that the company is optimistic about growing consumer demand this year.
