The wait is finally over for tech-savvies. On April 15, Honor is set to launch the world’s first smartphone with a groundbreaking 8,000 mAh battery. The company posted a teaser on Weibo showing the front part of the device along with the announcement date. The phone will be initially launched in China.
Expected Features
The Honor smartphone is reported to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor. It is also presumed to include a pill-shaped notch and very thin bezels. The larger battery will not only increase the battery life but it will also offer faster charging, making it an ideal smartphone for long hours of usage, especially for travelers.
Competing Smartphone Brands
It was previously reported by Phone Arena in February that Oppo and OnePlus are developing the biggest battery in the smartphone industry. Currently, there is no smartphone powered by batteries larger than 7,050 mAh. With Honor’s latest announcement, it seems the company has taken the lead, at least for now. However, this battery supremacy might not last long, as rivals are already gearing up to strike back.
Other Honor Lunches
Honor has an exciting lineup of smartphones ready for launch, with major releases like the Honor GT Pro, X60 GT, Digital 400 series, and the Magic V foldable series currently in the pipeline. According to a Weibo tipster, the company is set to unveil two new GT smartphones soon, likely the highly anticipated X60 GT and GT Pro.
