Hurricane Sandy as Seen from Space

These are one of those “Oh wow, look at that “moments in which leave us in awe and scared all in one photo. Technology sure has advanced when we can see hurricanes so detailed from space, we can now share images with the world, of the world in real-time.

Although I love technology, every day I am surprised of the clarity it can bring, mostly in these types of circumstances in which we need to be able to be informed and images such as these say more than any newspaper print.

Hurricane Sandy is approaching us and we are beginning to see images around the east of the U.S. show up on our social networks as the storm begins its threat. There are many people in panic and worry that this storm has caused, even prior to its momentous arrival, shutting down transit systems, hurling warnings to stay off the roads and shutting down businesses for possibly two days.

No image can capture this more than one taken from space, and as you can see we have a right to be worried since the size is ginormous. Due to technology and the way we have been able to place satellites in space, we are able to see historical moments unfold as they happen, share our concerns with others, socially and search for on-demand news when we need to, hurricane Sandy is one of those moments and many of us will not only share in its oncoming, but its destruction as well.

It is an unfortunate event Mother Nature is stirring up much like what would look to be inside a cauldron’s pot during the few days ahead, spewing goblins of raindrops upon us and tricking us with no treat in sight, not yet that is.

We must take images such as this seriously and seek for the best shelter we can, precautions are always necessary, yet let us hope together that the storm is only reminiscent in the future for its photogenic nature and nothing more. Stay safe friends!
