Why is Author free but Analyst costs $999?
Authors don't pay anything to apply or publish — TECHi pays per published piece + revenue share, since Authors arrive with their own audience and bring it to the site. Analysts run a research desk with extra monetization tooling (Stripe Connect, featured-domain placement, premium templates, performance bonuses) — the $999/yr funds the editorial review + monetization infrastructure they get to use on top of the revenue share.
When does the $999 charge happen?
Only after editor approval. The application form itself is free. If approved you'll receive a one-click checkout link via email; only then does Stripe charge $999. If rejected, no charge ever happens.
What counts as eligible external audience for the Author tier?
Editors review linked profiles across X, YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and Substack. Audience size matters, but approval also depends on profile ownership, identity fit, and editorial relevance.
What's the bar for Analyst applications?
Analysts need public profile evidence and a verifiable track record (past calls with dates and outcomes, sample reports, finance-authority bylines). Audience is one signal; accuracy + originality of analysis weigh heavier.
Can I cancel my Analyst Membership?
Yes, anytime. Pro-rated refunds aren't standard but we honor them in good faith for the first 14 days.
