On March 19, the CEO and Chairman of Microsoft, Satya Nadella, announced two senior leadership updates in Microsoft. Kathleen Hogan, Chief People Officer of Microsoft, will now be assuming a new role as EVP of the Office of Strategy and Transformation. Additionally, Amy Coleman will assume the role of EVP, Chief People Officer. This leadership update came along with the CEO’s vision to compete in the emerging AI world with the right product portfolio, right business model, and retain top talent to meet changing customer expectations.
Kathleen Hogan has been working in Microsoft for more than 20 years. Previously, she worked as a McKinsey partner in Silicon Valley and a development manager at Oracle. Her dynamic career roles made her suitable for this strategically important position. About her, Satya Nadella commented:
‘It is hard to overstate the impact Kathleen has had on Microsoft as Chief People Officer. Over the past 10+ years, she has led our cultural transformation, as we embraced a growth mindset, positioning us to seize new opportunities with agility and attract and retain world-class talent. She is recognized externally as a consequential HR leader transforming culture and the world of work.’
For the last six years, Amy Coleman has been working in Microsoft HR, arranging corporate functions across the company. Her HR role expanded across engineering, sales, marketing, and business development. While appreciating the work ethics of Amy, the company’s CEO said
‘Amy’s commitment to operational excellence and high performance will be key in driving our continued success’
With these two promising leadership updates, Microsoft is ready to navigate the new journey, driven by AI.
