The free AI image generator, Midjourney, has released its new model, dubbed V7. This new model promises improved image quality and advanced tools. Two new modes, Turbo and Relax, have also been included, however, no standard mode is set for this model. Some of the prominent features are:
1. Detailed Textures
The new model has enhanced the coherence and consistency for hands, fingers, body parts, and objects of all kinds. It also includes a focused and detailed texture of materials.
2. Draft Mode
In this mode, Midjourney could produce AI images 10 times faster than the default mode at half the cost. However, the images are of lower quality.
3. Turbo Mode
This mode generates images at a faster speed, but they are costly.
4. Relax Mode
Relax mode produces images at a slow speed but is economical for users.
5. Personalized Features
Along with previous features, V7 is more likely to have a default personalized enabler. It means that users can decide the aesthetics of their profile by picking at least 200 images. The AI-powered model will provide users with two final images to learn about the aesthetics and preferences of the user. However, this mode could be disabled.
Midjourney and Copyright
Like many other AI-image generating platforms, Midjourney is also under debate for using copyrighted images to train its models. It was also previously censured for producing images with watermarks and artists’ signatures.
The company is planning to launch its hardware soon. For that, it hired a former Apple hardware manager who worked on the Vision Pro headset.
