Nintendo Switch 2 Price Confirmed at $499 as U.S. Pre-Orders Launch on April 24

Nintendo Switch 2 Officially Priced at $499 as U.S. Pre-Orders Begin April 24

Nintendo has officially revealed that it will commence retail pre-orders for its most anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 console in the U.S. on April 24th, with a starting price of $499.Initially, pre-orders were scheduled for 9th April, but Nintendo postponed them to analyze the impact of the reciprocal tariff imposed by Trump.

Confirmed Manufacturing And Pricing

Electronic companies that operate in Asia were highly affected by the tariff, including China and Vietnam, with an imposed tariff rate of 145% and 10%, respectively.  The latter went down from 46% after Trump gave a 90-day pause for trade negotiations.

As the Nintendo Switch consoles were mostly manufactured in China and Vietnam, it has confirmed that it will maintain the price for the Switch 2 Console as it initially announced on April 2. The company mentioned:

“We apologize for the delay in pre-order, and we hope that it lowers the amount of uncertainty that our customers may be experiencing. We thank our customers for their patience. And we share their excitement to experience Nintendo Switch 2 from June 5, 2025.”

However, the company also mentioned that there will be price modification in Nintendo Switch 2 accessories due to the evolving market conditions, and future pricing of any Nintendo Product may also need to be adjusted according to the changing market situations.
