The company announced Stargate UAE on Thursday, which will offer a 1GW data center cluster to Abu Dhabi. According to OpenAI, the 200MW project, which was created in collaboration with G42 Oracle, Nvidia, Cisco, and Softbank, should be operational by 2026. As per OpenAI, the Stargate UAE initiative seeks to deliver state-of-the-art AI computing power over a 2,000-mile area, possibly benefiting a vast region with sophisticated AI technologies and services
UAE Becomes First Nation to Roll Out Nationwide ChatGPT Access
OpenAI stated in its blog post.
“This is the first partnership under OpenAI countries, our new global initiative to help interested governments build sovereign AI capability in coordination with the U.S. government,”
Through this initiative, the UAE will be the first nation globally to provide universal access to ChatGPT. Making OpenAI’s technology accessible to the public across the entire nation.

Oracle and OpenAI will manage the 1GW compute cluster, while Cisco will supply the connectivity backbone. Nvidia chips will drive the computational capabilities of AI applications.
