Xiaomi has already released a bunch of impressive devices this year, but what people have really been anticipating is the next version of the company’s ridiculously popular flagship smartphone. We’ve had a few leaks regarding the Mi5 and Mi5 Plus but nothing official. However, that could change next week, as the company has teased a big announcement for July 16th.

A lot of people get excited whenever Xiaomi gets ready to announce a new device, be it a mid-range or flagship smartphone or even a table. And for good reason, as the company’s devices are powerful and attractive for their price tag, making them a no brainer for a lot of people. Lately, the Xiaomi Mi5 and Mi5 Plus have been making headlines as their allegedly leaked specsheets have made people eagerly anticipating their official announcement. And speaking of announcements, today Xiaomi announced on its official Weibo account that the company will unveil something soon. How soon? July 16th soon. As you can see above, the device that is being teased is extremely thin and has a metal chassis (or, who knows?, maybe even a metallic unibody) so most likely it will be a flagship. Like some of you might remember, the Xiaomi Mi4 has been announced on July 22nd 2014, so chances are that the Chinese company will announce its successor six days from now.
