The notorious hacking group Anonymous has once again released a cache of 10 terabytes, disclosing data on the US businesses operating in Russia, including Donald Trump’s. The X post includes an image showing ‘Leaked Data of Donald Trump’.  The cache includes data on Kremlin assets in the West, pro-Russian Officials, and more. Giving a nationalist and pro-Ukrainian touch to the leaks, the hacking group Anonymous posted on X with the caption ‘In defence of Ukraine…’.

Anonymous Pro-Ukrainian Sentiments

This is not the first time the international hacking group has targeted Donald Trump. The group was even critical of Trump’s tariffs on imported goods, bringing uncertainty to the US market. The group has a history of targeting government institutions alleged to be corrupt and oppressive. In 2022, after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Anonymous declared a cyber war against Russia.

After posting on X, no additional information or threat has been given by the hacking group.

Will Anonymous Make an Impact?

Trump always remains under a cloud for his policies and alleged link with Russia. However, Cybernews reports that

“From what files have been examined so far, the overall consensus seems to be that the leaked info is simply not that exciting, and apparently not that secret.”

Trump Targets His Critics

Last week, Trump signed a pair of memoranda directing the Justice Department to investigate two officials from his first administration and stripping them of any security clearance. It includes Miles Taylor, a former Department of Homeland Security official, and Chris Krebs, a former top cybersecurity official. Taylor left the Trump office in 2019 and was later revealed to be the author of an anonymous New York Times op-ed in 2018. The publication touched off a leak investigation in Trump’s first term. Later, Taylor published a book under the pen name ‘Anonymous’.
