On Tuesday, Apple announced it will host its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) from 9 to 13 June, this year. The virtual event will accompany an in-person special event at Apple Park on the opening day.  The Vice President of Apple’s Worldwide Developer Relations, Susan Prescott stated about the event 

“We’re excited to mark another incredible year of WWDC with our global developer community. We can’t wait to share the latest tools and technologies that will empower developers and help them continue to innovate.”

This event will allow students and developers to access the company’s new tools, frameworks, and features. Participants can access the event on the Apple Developer app, Apple Developer website, and Apple Developer YouTube channel

This key event will provide Apple enthusiasts with networking opportunities with engineers and designers. The event will include 

  • Developer beta release
  • High-quality presentations
  • Swift Student Challenge 
  • Apple Design Awards 

In-Person Special Event

The global tech company announced that a special event will also be arranged at Apple Park. This event will include ‘Keynote’ and ‘Platforms State of the Union’. The participants will have a one-on-one and group meeting experience with Apple experts and they can also participate in special activities. 

Swift Student Challenge 

Apple launched its Swift Student Challenge to support upcoming developers, coders, designers, and entrepreneurs. The challenge allowed thousands of students to showcase their capabilities through the app playground and learn real-world skills for app development. 350 winners will be selected from this challenge to receive a one-year membership in the Apple Developer Program. The winners of this challenge are also eligible for the special event at Apple Park. 

The company also announced that 50 Distinguished Winners for their outstanding submissions will be invited to Cupertino, California, for a three-day experience. The Apple Worldwide Developers Conference is held every June. At this event, the company displays its latest features and developer tools. Since COVID-19, the event has been shifted to a hybrid digital and in-person format.
