Trust in security industry is waning following RSA’s alleged cooperation with the NSA

Following recent reports that RSA was paid by the National Security Agency to purposely distribute broken encryptions that the NSA could crack, trust in the security industry has lowered considerably. RSA’s annual user conference in San Francisco is one of the largest security events of the year. Because of the amount of influence that the company has, its alleged involvement in NSA spying was a major blow to the security industry.
