It’s not every day you get to re-imagine what the desktop computer will look like, especially in an age where mobility is taking over. However, courtesy of some brilliant thinkers at the Media Computing Group at Aachen University in Germany, the desktop computer is looking brand-spanking new and totally awesome. This is technologically really cool, but I really hope this is NOT the future of desktop computers. If it is, I hope I’m not part of that future.

It looks like it may make for a fun arcade game.  However, it could never replace a desktop.  A desktop PC is a desktop because it goes “on a desk”.  I know that my desk has stuff (files, cd’s, various other documents) spread out on it at all times!  Not to mention that the drawers are full as well.  Desktop computers are here to stay.
