Meta Platforms became the first official fan technology partner of Ultimate Fighting Championship UFC after signing a multi-year deal. Through this deal, Meta will provide UFC fans a deeper immersive experience with its text-based platform and Threads. After this deal, Meta will be the official social media partner.
Both the companies have kept financial terms confidential. After this deal Meta will be branding in UFC’s Octagon ring for pay-per-view and Fight Night events. It will also get the slot in broadcast features and creative in-arena fan experience.
The deal will cover the likes of the Meta AI, Metta Glasses, and Meta Quest tech business segment, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Threads. This deal is an outcome of Meta’s CEO’s extensive social investment in mixed martial arts and recreational fighters over the years that strengthened the relationship between the CEO and UFC chief executive Dana White.
About this partnership, Dana said
“Meta has the greatest minds in tech and [it is] going to take fan engagement to the next level. We’ve already started to work on some innovations with Meta around a new fighter rankings system that I’ll be sharing soon. The next few years will be an absolute game changer for fans of this sport.”
Dana White was elected to Meta’s board in January. He is also a close friend of Donald Trump. The company recently secured the partnership for the Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant chain. UFC was founded in 1993 and is an American Mixed martial arts promotion company.
