YouTube has rolled out a major redesign for its TV app, aiming to make the viewing experience smoother and more enjoyable. The update brings in several new features that help users discover and enjoy content from their favorite creators more easily. One of the biggest highlights is the addition of a dedicated “Shorts” row in the Subscriptions tab.
Before this update, Shorts and regular videos were shown together on the same screen, which wasn’t ideal especially since Shorts are made for vertical viewing on mobile devices. Now, with the new layout, Shorts have their own space in the app. This makes it easier and more fun to watch short, vertical videos right on your TV, giving you a clean and visually appealing way to enjoy them on a bigger screen just like on your phone.
Another great addition is the new “Top Channels” section on the app’s homepage. This feature shows you the channels you watch the most or are subscribed to, so you can quickly find and watch your favorite content without digging through menus or scrolling endlessly. It's all right there at your fingertips.
By using your viewing habits to organize content, YouTube has made the app more personalized and user-friendly. It’s now easier than ever to browse videos that actually matter to you. This update will roll out gradually over the next few weeks across smart TVs and streaming devices. YouTube says these improvements are part of their mission to make watching on TV more personal, intuitive, and convenient for everyone.
