Live methodology

Built like a crypto fear gauge, tuned for the AI economy.

Score = sum(component score * component weight) / 100. Component scores are normalized to 0-100 and refreshed hourly.

Update policy

The public page and API revalidate every hour. Underlying sources may update intraday, monthly, quarterly, annually, or on TECHi editorial refreshes.

0-24

Extreme Fear

Capital is pulling back and AI risk appetite is stressed.

25-39

Fear

Defensive positioning dominates the AI tape.

40-59

Neutral

Signals are mixed; no clear fear or greed regime.

60-74

Greed

Capital, adoption, or attention are expanding.

75-100

Extreme Greed

Multiple AI-cycle signals are running hot at once.

Methodology weights

Weighted composite

Market · 20%

AI Market Momentum

75.8

The Big-7 AI complex shows whether public-market capital is chasing or fading AI exposure.

Uses 1W, 1M, and 1Y Big-7 AI market-cap changes. More recent moves receive more weight, with the 1Y move acting as the cycle anchor.

Big-7 AI Mkt Cap

$22.6T

NVDA + MSFT + GOOGL + META + AMZN + TSLA + AAPL, last close.

Macro · 18%

Liquidity & Macro Pressure

0

AI greed is easier to sustain when liquidity is expanding and inflation/rate pressure is not squeezing duration assets.

Blends global liquidity change, real GDP momentum, inflation distance from 2%, Fed funds pressure, and unemployment direction.

Global Liquidity (M2)

$101T

Top-four central bank M2 estimate, USD-converted; methodology varies by source.

Real GDP Trending

Inflation

-1.17 pts

Adoption · 18%

AI Adoption

85.2

Adoption measures whether AI is moving from narrative into real software, workflows, and demand.

Uses TECHi adoption-index changes across 1M, 1Y, and the AI-era baseline. Sustained adoption raises greed because it validates revenue durability.

TECHi AI Adoption Index

38/100

Proprietary weekly scenario model; not a market statistic.

Compute · 14%

Compute Deflation

100

Lower frontier token costs expand the set of AI apps that can work economically, which is a greed signal for the AI stack.

Treats 1M, 1Y, and AI-era frontier output-token cost declines as positive. Falling cost equals higher component score.

Compute $/Mtok

$0.04

Frontier-class output token price (1500x cheaper since 2020).

Capex · 15%

Capital & Capex

86.4

AI capex indicates how aggressively hyperscalers and strategic buyers are turning belief into balance-sheet commitments.

Uses hyperscaler capex guidance and analyst tallies. Larger YoY capex expansion pushes the component toward greed.

2026 AI Capex

$650-725B

Hyperscaler 2026 capex guidance and analyst tallies after Q1 updates.

Attention · 15%

Attention & Demand

77.5

Reader demand, quote-page traffic, and price-dashboard usage show where market attention is concentrating right now.

Uses Google Analytics quote-page demand when available, curated fallback watchlists when analytics is unavailable, and AI ticker concentration.

What the score reads

A 0-100 market mood signal for AI: fear means capital is pulling back or macro pressure is rising; greed means capital, attention, and adoption are accelerating.

Why it is not crypto

Crypto greed indexes are mostly price and volatility loops. This page adds AI capex, compute prices, adoption data, quote demand, and economic indicators.

How to use it

Treat it as a dashboard, not investment advice. Extreme readings are context for quote research, earnings pages, and TECHi analyst work.
