Apple’s CEO Tim Cook is continuously in the news for his emphasis on health services. Now Apple is considering launching an AI agent that will replicate a real doctor to some extent. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is working on a project called Mulberry that will provide health services to its users. The latest Bloomberg Power On newsletter

“The initiative is called Project Mulberry, and it involves a completely revamped Health app plus a health coach. The service would be powered by a new AI agent that would replicate—at least to some extent—a real doctor,”

For this initiative, Apple is trying to integrate its hardware, software, and services to collect data for AI health services. The platform ensures that users give their consent for this data release. On this, Gurman says

“The idea is this: The Health app will continue to collect data from your devices (whether that’s the iPhone, Apple Watch, earbuds or third-party products), and then the AI coach will use that information to offer tailor-made recommendations about ways to improve health,”

This health service is expected to be released with iOS 19.4, next year.

What Apple Health Services Could Do?

It is speculated that if Apple successfully launched its health tools it would be a game changer in the field of health services. It could enable integration of real-time diagnosis into wearable devices like Apple Watch. This feature will shift the medical focus from treatment to prevention as the users will be continuously informed about their health. For healthcare professionals, this AI advancement will lead to remote monitoring, diagnostic workflow, and patients’ constant engagement. The AI tools can give early warnings to patients in case of an anomaly.

Apple is likely to offer secure healthcare services and it will also set new standards for the industry by protecting the data of users.
