The long-rumoured Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remake is not a secret anymore, as Microsoft has just officially announced a livestream event for the game.

The remake was first revealed during the Activision case through court documents. It has been backed since then by many reliable sources hinting that it is coming soon as an “over-shadow”, a surprise release tactic that Xbox has previously used.

According to Microsoft, the event will take place on 22 April, at 11 am ET and 8 pm PT, and it will be live on Twitch and YouTube. This live stream will give a detailed overview of the gameplay, visuals and some changes to modernize the RPG.

A Shadow Drop Release And What To Expect

Even though Microsoft has not verified the release but it will likely be launched on the same day following Xbox’s shadow drop, where the live stream ends with the announcement of a surprise release. A reportedly leaked file of 120 GB suggests that the preparations have already begun.

Moreover, Oblivion remake is going to be rebuilt using Unreal Engine 5. And leaked screenshots on Reddit suggest that the remake will have a visually striking environment, indicating that it will be a revamp of the original.

It is expected that the stream will show the enhanced game mechanics, including archery systems, steam mechanics, and reworked blocking.

Oblivion Remake: Possible Major Hit In 2025

Despite a lack of official marketing, the remake has the potential to be a huge success. As the fans are frustrated due to repeated releases of Skyrim and they are waiting for a long time for Elder Scrolls IV, the timing couldn’t be any better for the release.

Even though some fans are worried about the status of Elder Scrolls IV, the fact that it is being developed by Virtuous and not Bethesda might ease their concerns. Bethesda is focusing on its projects.

Whether the game is launched today or by the end of this week, it is going to dominate the gaming conversations if it meets expectations.
