Google Made Vacation Planning Easy via New Features

Google has just made summer vacation planning effortless with exciting new tools that feature search, maps, and Gemini. Considering the budget planning headache, finding vacation spots, listing suitable hotels, and other hectic tasks, Google has decided to ease its users ‘ lives, making vacation planning more fun.

Create an Itinerary

Now, Google users can decide their vacation spots by just giving a prompt to Google’s AI Overview. Starting this week, Google users just need to write their trip ideas for particular regions and the AI will suggest the most suitable places. For instance, users can search for ‘create an itinerary for San Jose with a focus on aesthetic views’. The AI Overview will provide the users with photos, reviews, and locations on an expandable map. From there, users can create an itinerary, the way that best suits their budget and idea. Users can then save it as a custom list in Google Maps or share it by tapping ‘Export’. This feature is currently available for US mobile and desktop users.

Trip Planner

Google users can now access Gemini’s Gem feature for free to set up a trip planner. A Gem is a tool that creates custom AI experts for any task within Gemini. By using this free feature, users can set up an expert to help them assist in picking destination and backpack planning.

Hotel Prices

Google is now expanding its flights alert feature to hotels. Till now Google sends alerts to its users whenever there is a price drop in flights. Now Google is extending this feature to hotels also in particular regions. Users can find a new option to track hotel prices for chosen dates and places. Via email, Google will send alerts to its users whenever there is a price drop for set hotels or destinations. This feature is being launched globally this week for mobile and desktop users.

Google Maps for Screenshots

Another exciting feature by Google for its trip planners is to convert their screenshot into locations.  Now Google Map users can turn the saved screenshot of a destination into actual locations and from there they can review that place. This feature is currently available for US iOS users in English but it will be soon launched for Androids users also.

Previously, Google had its trip planning app ‘Google Trips’ which was shut down in 2019 and the users were redirected to ‘Google Travel’. This app is available for desktop users only. Through this app users can view popular destinations, ticket costs, hotel rooms, and much more. However, these new features will ease the users in creating itinerary more conveniently. The Gem feature will make destination planning more organized and the exciting feature of converting the screenshot into exact location will help users to reach their desired places in a few taps.
