SwitchBot is set to launch its latest smart hub, the SwitchBot Hub 3, featuring Matter support and enhanced physical controls. According to HomeKitNews, a CSA registration confirms its development. The Hub 3 will have a display similar to the Hub 2 but with new features, including a control knob for easier operation.
New Control Features
The Hub 3’s control knob allows users to adjust smart thermostat temperatures and control media volume effortlessly. It supports popular streaming services like Apple TV and Spotify, making audio control seamless. Additionally, it comes with physical buttons, including a home button, a back button, and a button with the SwitchBot “S” logo. There are also four customizable quick scene buttons for instant access to preset modes.
Smart Display and Motion Detection
The Hub 3’s display turns on when it detects motion, hand gestures, or device movements. It provides key information such as indoor temperature, humidity levels, third-party weather forecasts, and real-time door lock status updates.
Matter Support and Smart Home Integration
Like its predecessor, the Hub 2, the Hub 3 connects SwitchBot’s Bluetooth devices to Matter, allowing compatibility with major smart home platforms, including Apple, Google, Amazon, and Samsung. The listing also confirms voice control support via Alexa and Google Assistant.
Launch and Availability
SwitchBot has not officially announced the Hub 3’s release date yet, but its listing suggests an upcoming launch.
Expanding the SwitchBot Smart Home Ecosystem
SwitchBot is expanding its range of smart home devices, offering a universal Matter remote, a gadget that moves curtains, a tiny robot that presses buttons, and a stick-on tool that turns regular deadbolt locks into smart locks. In January, the company introduced a new modular robotic system to enhance its smart home technology.
