Complete Quordle guide: how to manage four boards simultaneously, best opening words, and how to use hints without spoiling the answers.
Updated Apr 21
Quordle is a daily word game published by Merriam-Webster. You solve four five-letter words at the same time — every guess you type counts against all four boards — and you have a total of nine attempts to clear all four. It is the toughest of the mainstream Wordle descendants because you cannot lock in a single board without also committing information to the other three.
This page explains the rules, the tile colors, a proven opening strategy, and how to handle the tricky mid-game where most players lose their streak. When you're ready for live help with today's puzzle, open the Quordle hints & answers page — it refreshes every morning with one hint per board and a blurred reveal at the bottom.
Openers matter more in Quordle than in any other Wordle variant. Nine guesses sounds generous, but you need to spend your first two or three turns gathering information across four boards — not trying to win a single one. The consensus among top solvers is the two-guess ten-letter sweep: pick two opening words that together cover ten different high-frequency letters.
Do not lock in a board on guess two. Even if your opener reveals three greens on the top-left, keep playing information guesses until you have at least one scaffold letter on every board. Players who rush to finish the first solved board on guess three are the ones who run out of attempts on the fourth.
By guess four you should have scaffold letters on all four boards. The decision that separates a 7-guess solve from a 9-guess loss is which board you attack next.
